The Opportunity:

The Student Intern will gain exposure to various strategic initiatives established within a managed care organization as well as project management standards and practices. They will gain opportunities to learn about the various State, private and Non-profit services that are available, and gain work experience in the implementation of various projects. Additional opportunities include experience with verbal and written communication; data collections/analysis, training opportunities, attendance various strategic project meetings, and project management.

Position Summary:

The intern provides administrative support to various executives, directors, senior managers, and project managers within the organization while completing assigned projects with established timelines. Requirements include broad technical knowledge, strong computer, communication, organization, and administrative skills.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development of projects assigned and ensures effective communication to project team/staff members to fully understand the goals and expectations of the project, and or assignments given. Meets deadlines, timelines, and commitments to ensure completion of projects and or assignments.
  • Creates and maintains all supporting project documentation and ensures distribution of documentation to appropriate staff as required.
  • Assists in the coordination and organization of activities and meetings by collaborating with internal and external resources.
  • Assists with maintenance of databases and preparation of special projects and presentations
  • Will develop communication, accountability, and creative and creative thinking skills through experience.
  • Responsible to maintain AlohaCare’s confidential information in accordance with AlohaCare policies, and state and federal laws, rules and regulations regarding confidentiality. The intern may have access to AlohaCare data based on the data classification assigned to this job title.

Required Competencies & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current student entering their junior or senior year in an accredited undergraduate program in Business Administration, Public Health, Management or other related field.
  • Experience with computer systems and software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate via telephone, verbal and written communication in English with co-workers, members and providers.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • May require prolonged sitting-up to 4 hours
  • Requires prolonged operation of a computer workstation, including the ability to type for extended periods of time on a keyboard during the scheduled workday.
  • Ability to communicate via telephone, and to communicate verbally and in writing using English.
  • May require occasional lifting, up to 20 pounds.

Salary Range: $15.00 - $17.00 an hour

Part Time Temporary from May 20, 2025 - August 22, 2025
